Help older people feel connected, valued and full of life

We believe that later life should be rich with friendships, new experiences and a sense of belonging.

But for too many older people, loneliness gets in the way.

That is where you come in.

As a Community Coordinator with MHA Communities, you will help create spaces where older people can connect, laugh, share and thrive.

You will bring activities to life, organise events that matter, and build bridges that turn isolation into community.

If you are passionate about making a real difference in your local area, you will find a rewarding and purposeful career here.

What it means to work as a Community Coordinator

As a Community Coordinator, you will:

  • Plan, organise and deliver a wide variety of activities, events and outings that meet the needs and interests of older people
  • Help local older people reconnect with old hobbies, discover new passions and build lasting friendships
  • Work closely with volunteers, colleagues, families and local partners to make your community scheme thrive
  • Offer a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment where everyone feels seen and valued
  • Champion MHA’s values - respect, nurture and inspire - in everything you do.

You will help create moments of joy, comfort and connection - the things that make life truly meaningful.

What we are looking for

You do not need previous experience in community work - we will give you full training and support.

What matters most is that you are:
  • Friendly, welcoming and passionate about supporting older people
  • Organised, creative and confident planning events and activities
  • A great communicator who can build strong relationships with all kinds of people
  • Positive, flexible and a true team player
  • Committed to creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels they belong.
If you have a heart for making a difference and a head for organising, you could be exactly who we are looking for.

Why choose a Community Coordinator career at MHA?

When you join MHA, you are joining more than a team - you are joining a movement to help older people live later life well.

You will enjoy:
  • A rewarding career making a visible difference in your local community
  • Full training, development and opportunities to grow your skills
  • A competitive salary and a strong package of employee benefits
  • A supportive workplace that values respect, collaboration and compassion
  • The chance to be part of one of the UK's most trusted charities supporting older people.
