Residents at MHA Horfield Lodge embark on trip to China from comfort of armchair

At just 22 years old, Courtney Welch has already taken impressive steps in her social care career — and she has no intention of stopping there.

Courtney joined MHA Norwood in May 2023 as a care assistant, before progressing into her current role as senior care assistant in July 2024. Her rapid development reflects both her dedication and her long-standing ambition to work in the social care sector.

Having always known she wanted a career in care, Courtney studied Health and Social Care at Level 2 and Level 3. She has now begun her Level 4 Adult Social Care qualification, which will take approximately 18 months to complete.

Courtney is one of the staff members being celebrated as part of MHA’s 30 Under 30 initiative, which aims to recognise and showcase at least 30 colleagues aged 30 and under across the organisation, while promoting social care as a rewarding career choice for young people.
